PHOTOGRAPHERS’ LOCATION NOTES

Owning a Triumph motorcycle or for that matter any British marque was pretty much the done thing if you were into motorcycles in 30's, 40's and 50's in Australia.

Most makes and models were affordable, economical, reasonably easy to maintain, parts weren't a problem, most were quite fast and well styled - all leaked oil - just like the British cars of the day.

We recorded this farm scene in one of the wine growing regions of rural Western Australia.

This old Triumph motorbike has seen better days and better mechanics.

The last one just gave up! Untidy workbench in the foreground.

Abandoned in the corner of the workshop, a broken thong beside the bike, time hardened leather gloves on the seat, tools discarded on the ground - the only thing running here was the bush mechanic.

But the bike knows better, it's an optimist, it character is revealed in the clutch cover of the engine as an winking smiley face.

It's thinking!

"Don't worry I'll be roaring down the country lanes and byways soon enough - its only a matter of time and a better shod mechanic".
