PHOTOGRAPHERS’ LOCATION NOTES
Sarge recorded this scene in a farm shed on a former sheep property in the Darling Ranges near Perth in Western Australia.
The "A" Model's present owner rescued the car from a trade in lot at the rear of the New Ford Car Dealership where he worked as a mechanic in the early 1960's.
An unlicenced trade-in, he was told to take it to the rubbish dump, instead he took it home.
Minor repairs and relicenced, he lent to friends who put to work for a while carting oranges from their orchard to the local markets.
Fruit cases where strapped to the running boards, mudguards and rear luggage carrier to maximise the loads of fruit.
In a few years, when it grew too tired for the task, it was warehoused in an outbuilding on his farm to become a retirement restoration project along with the mountain of other collectables.
Today restored to its former glory. The toy truck in the middle foreground is a Chevrolet delivery van.
